The Inaugural Post

So I've finally taken the plunge and made my blog. For those of you who know me well, you know how big of a deal this is (I'm quite the procrastinator). This is blog is intended to be an accountability partner and source of motivation for my marathon I'm running. I just hope it helps me get across the finish line...

For those of you who don't know, I signed up two weeks ago to join the Dallas Team in Training marathon team. This group is a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and is a way to fundraise for research and support for patients with blood cancers. Basically, I raise money for this organization, they train me to run a marathon, and the money goes to help blood cancer patients in our area. By freak chance I heard about this organization, and by an even freakier chance I signed up for it. And I couldn't be more excited!

So far, I have made a couple of friends and run a total of 20 miles, 6 of which were today. My legs feel like jelly...Check out the picture of Cassandra, Lindsay, and me after running.

The friends I've made are Cassandra (far left), Travis (not pictured), and Lindsay (middle). Lindsay is my mentor (and a Baylor grad, I might add), and Cassandra & Travis are my sweet new friends. I also want to send a shout-out to Coach Joe for convincing me I can run a marathon, and Bryan my campaign coordinator just because he's cool.

I'll update this as much as I can. Hopefully, I'll be able to communicate through this blog how important the organization I'm running for is, and also I hope you donate to my marathon fund because I need money!!!! I also DESPERATELY need your encouragement, so let me know how you feel about my posts!

Peace.
